Employee Benefits  

This brief summary describes most of the benefit programs available to employees of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation. A position’s full-time or part-time status and work location determines an employee’s eligibility for each of the following programs. Benefit programs are subject to change at any time without prior notice.

Paid Time Off  

Annual/Vacation Leave, Sick Leave, and Paid Holidays.

Health Plans  

The Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation offers 2 medical plan options, 3 dental plan options, and a vision plan.

Health & Dependant Care Flexible Spending Accounts  

Employees may set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible health and dependent care expenses.

Free Parking  

Employees park free in their assigned area on the grounds or in the parking garage.

Commuter Rewards Program  

The Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation provides financial incentives to encourage our employees to commute to work by methods which reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and reduce the need for parking on the Close grounds.

Retirement Programs  

401(k) and 403(b) plans are available. Eligibility for a specific plan is determined by work location and full- or part-time status.

Life Insurance & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance  

Group term life insurance is provided at no cost to eligible employees.

Long-Term Disability Insurance  

Long-term disability coverage is provided at no cost to eligible employees.

Work-Life Balance Program  

This program offers 24-hour access to trained consultants and on-line resources to help employees balance work and family life.

Health Club Discount/Athletic Center Program  

Employees may participate in a gym membership discount program or use on-site athletic facilities.

Legal Resources  

Employees may participate in the program which provides legal coverage for themselves and eligible family members though payroll deduction.

Pastoral Assistance  

The Pastoral Care office is available to provide support and advice on personal problems.

Credit Union  

Employees and their family are eligible to join the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Federal Credit Union.

Program Tickets  

Employees can receive advance and/or free tickets to some Washington National Cathedral sponsored events.

Day Care  

The Beauvoir Childcare Program is offered to employees (subject to availability) with children 3 months – 4 years of age. Inquiries should be directed to Christine Edwards, Director of the Early Early Learning Center, at (202) 537-6501 or CEdwards@cathedral.org.

St. Alban’s Early Childhood Center (at St. Albans Episcopal Church) offers childcare on a space-available basis. Please contact them for more information at SAECC@yahoo.com or (202) 363-7380.

Voluntary Term/Whole Life Insurance   

Employees may purchase additional coverage for themselves and their family members.

Workplace Banking  

Employees are eligible to participate in this program through PNC Bank, which offers various incentives and member benefits.
